Defending their children, parents beat students and principal

(Baonghean.vn) - Hearing that his child was being teased by a friend, Mr. Nguyen Huu Hien (parent of Nguyen Huu Duc Dat - a 4th grade student at Dinh Son Primary School (Anh Son) went to school, then rushed in and beat up other students, parents and even the principal.

The incident occurred at around noon on October 19 at Dinh Son Primary School, Anh Son District. According to Mr. Cao Phi Nhat - Head of Dinh Son Commune Police, at around 11:30 on October 19, the commune police received information about a fight at Dinh Son Primary School.

When the commune police arrived to work, Mr. Nguyen Huu Hien was there. While the commune police were gathering information, Mr. Hien ran out and beat Quan and Nguyen. Ms. Xuan (Quan's mother) ran in to hug her child and was also beaten by Mr. Hien. Seeing Mr. Hien's wrongdoings, Mr. Tran Van Phu - Principal of Dinh Son Primary School tried to stop him but was punched by Mr. Hien until his mouth bled.

At that moment, the Commune Police restrained Mr. Hien and reported to the Anh Son District Police. Mr. Hien was taken to the commune police headquarters to make a record and take his statement. “Here, Mr. Hien admitted that his actions of beating the students and the principal were wrong. As for beating the vice principal, Mr. Hien did not admit,” said Mr. Nhat.

It is known that the cause of the incident was that on the morning of October 19, 3 students Quan, Nguyen, Dat (all students of class 4A, Dinh Son Primary School) teased and pushed each other. At noon, when the school called the 3 parents involved to work, Mr. Hien had the above actions.

After being beaten by Mr. Hien, Ms. Xuan and her son Quan were taken to Anh Son District Medical Center for examination. Because they only suffered minor injuries, the mother and son returned home that same day. As for Mr. Phu, because his lip was torn by the punch, he was taken to Tay Nam General Hospital for examination and received three stitches.

Regarding the above incident, Mr. Doan Van Thanh - Deputy Head of the Department of Education and Training of Anh Son district said that after the incident, the department worked with the school and reassured the teachers and students.

Regarding Mr. Hien's behavior, Mr. Thanh said: "Mr. Hien was also drunk that day, and saw his child being teased by his friends, so he could not control himself and did something wrong. This is just a childish thing, and while the school was working, he did such actions. The industry will learn from experience in handling some arising incidents."

Currently, the Dinh Son Commune Police have coordinated with the Anh Son District Police to complete the case file and submit a report to the District People's Committee. According to Mr. Nhat, Mr. Hien's aggressive behavior occurred in the school, causing public outrage. "The next day, Mr. Hien went to the children's house to apologize. However, the District Police's direction is to handle the case strictly according to the law," said Mr. Nhat.

Discussing the incident, Major Doan Nam Trung - Deputy Head of Anh Son District Police said that the district police are currently verifying, clarifying, and completing the case file.
