85-year-old blind woman still threads needles and sews quickly
(Baonghean.vn) -Blind from birth, now 85 years old, but sheHoang Thi Phuong (born in 1932, residing in Hamlet 4, Nghi Van Commune, Nghi Loc District, Nghe An)still threading needle and sewing as fast as usual.
Hoang Thi Phuong is the eldest child in a family of 10 children in Nghi Hoa commune (Cua Lo town, Nghe An). Unlike her siblings, Phuong was blind since birth. Due to the difficult life on the Lam River dike and the large family, the family did not have the means to take her to see a doctor or get treatment.
Although disabled, extraordinary willpower has helped Ms. Phuong overcome adversity. Since growing up, she has learned to do everything by herself, without depending on or bothering anyone. From cooking, washing clothes, weeding... she can do it all skillfully. Admiring her perseverance and hard work, in 1957, Mr. Pham Binh Dinh - a healthy man from Nghi Phong commune, Nghi Loc district asked her to marry him.

After getting married, Mrs. Phuong still helped her husband with housework every day so that he could go to work. Three children were born one after another. In 1982, after a serious illness, Mr. Dinh passed away, leaving Mrs. Phuong with three children. Having lost the pillar of the family, but with love for her children and not giving in to fate, she tried her best to do everything to raise her three children. Whenever someone hired her to do any work that she could do, she would accept it...
From the hands of this blind woman, 3 children (1 boy, 2 girls) grew up and got married. When her son got married, she brought Mrs. Phuong to raise in hamlet 4, Nghi Van commune, Nghi Loc district.
Living with her son and his wife, she still kept her daily routine and, in order not to be a burden to her children and grandchildren, she still cooked, washed clothes, cut vegetables for the pigs, and weeded the garden. Not only that, she could still thread a needle and sew, something that many ordinary people find difficult.

Now, her children are well-off financially, and she has 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. This can be considered a worthy achievement for her determination to not surrender to fate.
