As a warm-up step for the AFC U23 Championship in China in early 2018, the Vietnam U23 team will travel to Thailand to participate in the M150 international friendly tournament from December 9 to 15. Coach Park Hang-seo’s team will be in Group B with host Thailand U23 and Myanmar U23.

Meanwhile, in Group A, U23 Japan will compete with U23 Uzbekistan and U23 DPRK. The teams in the group will compete in a round robin to determine rankings. The two second-placed teams in each group will meet to compete for third place. The two group winners will enter the final match to compete for the championship, with a prize of up to 20,000 USD.

This is considered a quality tournament. Except for Myanmar, the remaining 5 teams will all participate in the 2018 AFC U23 Championship. Of which, Japan is the strongest candidate, having won the championship 2 years ago in Qatar. For Mr. Park Hang-seo personally, this tournament is an opportunity for him to test the young players in his hands, before heading to the first important tournament as head coach of the U23 and Vietnam national team.

Vietnam U23 team will have their opening match against Thailand U23 team at 7:00 p.m. on December 9, at Buriram Club's I-Mobile Stadium. Two days later, Vietnam U23 team will meet Myanmar U23 team.
