Hundreds of Mai Linh, Van Xuan, and Dong Bac drivers were fined for speeding violations.

(Baonghean.vn) - Hundreds of vehicles belonging to bus and taxi companies such as Dong Bac, Thach Thanh, Su Chuyen, Mai Linh, and Van Xuan have just been fined for speeding in Vinh City.

Since June 2017, Vinh City Police have been implementing speed shooting in the inner city and fining drivers. Accordingly, the traffic police force will combine public speed shooting, on-site ticketing and disguised speed shooting and fining.

Both methods are implemented in parallel, ensuring that the area is always closed 24/24. This is done on all inner-city routes with all means of transport. It is worth mentioning that buses and taxis commit this violation quite commonly.

Up to this point, Vinh City Police have issued 268 speeding tickets, including 67 buses and 42 taxis that were ticketed on the spot; 56 buses and 10 taxis that were fined later.

Captain Le Dang Khoa - Deputy Head of the Traffic Police Team of Vinh City Police said: "More than half of the violations are vehicles belonging to bus and taxi companies. The most common are still Dong Bac, Thach Thanh, Mai Linh, Su Chuyen, Van Xuan".

In addition to violations that were recorded and fined on the spot, in other cases, the traffic police force sent violation notices to businesses, asking them to come to the traffic police station to pay the fine.

The notice sent to the business includes full images of the vehicle, time and location of the vehicle's violation, based on which the business can easily identify the violating driver to have appropriate handling. If the 7-day deadline has passed and the violator has not come to the team headquarters to resolve the issue, Vinh City Police will issue a document requesting the vehicle inspection agency to coordinate in handling the issue.

''Recently, the number of accidents caused by reckless driving by buses and taxis has tended to increase. Many drivers think that the traffic police only fine speeding violations in suburban areas, so they drive at quite high speeds in the city. Meanwhile, the inner city has a high density of people and vehicles, so it is very dangerous. In the coming time, the traffic police will increase close supervision and continue to implement both of these forms of punishment,'' said Captain Le Dang Khoa.
