Controversy over the Miss Ocean crown that was just awarded
Ngan Anh denied the cheating rumors and said she has the beauty, face, and knowledge to become Miss Ocean 2017.
On the evening of October 28, the final round of the Miss Ocean Vietnam 2017 contest took place at the Peace Theater, Ho Chi Minh City. The victory belonged to contestant Le Au Ngan Anh, 22 years old, from Tien Giang.

Since the afternoon of October 28, information that beauty Ngan Anh will be crowned has spread on social media. After the results were announced, many suspected that Ngan Anh bought the award. The new beauty queen said she did not cheat to win. "From the beginning of the contest, I was a strong candidate because I was knowledgeable, had just graduated from university, and was good at English and French. I was also confident that I had a good figure and a pretty face. I thought those were the factors that could make me a beauty queen without having to buy the award," she shared.
Ngan Anh admitted that she had a nose job but had the cartilage removed to restore her face to its original state. The contestant shared this with the organizers and they approved. She also has no intention of getting plastic surgery after the contest because she is satisfied with her features.
During the behavioral round, she was quite hesitant. However, Ngan Anh said that she had fully answered the judges' questions about the importance of foreign languages. She assessed that she spoke quite well in English when introducing a beach in Vietnam.

When asked whether the audience disagreed with Ngan Anh's coronation, she said that when a beauty contest ends, controversial opinions are normal. "The most important thing for me is to win over myself," she said.
The head of the organizing committee, Mr. Vo Viet Chung, said that Ngan Anh's victory was convincing. He denied that the contestant had bought the prize. Regarding the new beauty queen's plastic surgery, a member of the organizing committee said that Ngan Anh had passed the anthropometric round of the contest and that no foreign objects were detected in the X-ray.
Ngan Anh believes that besides her, the contest has many potential candidates to become beauty queens. She highly appreciates Nguyen Thi Dieu Thuy - 1st runner-up, her close friend in the program.
Runner-up Dieu Thuy shared that she felt somewhat regretful about the result.A week before the finals, she had chicken pox and had to take several days off to recover. When she returned to the competition, she was even more determined because she knew she was behind the majority of the contestants."Maybe I have some shortcomings so I stopped at the first runner-up position," she said.

Dieu Thuy affirmed that her beauty is completely natural and she has no intention of undergoing plastic surgery. After the contest, she continued her studies and participated in protecting the marine environment according to the program's message.
Miss Ocean Vietnam is a national beauty contest, first held in 2014, to find ambassadors for the Blue Ocean World project founded by the Vietnam Environmental Protection Fund.The new Miss Ocean received a prize of 600 million VND and a crown worth 3.2 billion VND.First runner-up received a prize of 300 million VND. Second runner-up received a prize of 200 million VND.
