Recently, Miss Ocean 2014 Dang Thu Thao announced to give up the title because she disagreed with Ngan Anh's victory. According to her, the fact that a contestant who had plastic surgery was in the top is unfair to the other contestants. In addition, Ngan Anh's performance was hesitant and unconvincing. Thu Thao also said that she was told by the organizing committee to prepare to crown the new beauty queen. However, at the moment Le Au Ngan Anh was crowned, designer Vo Viet Chung was the one who carried out this task. Thu Thao was upset because she did not receive a satisfactory explanation from the organizing committee.
