A doctor at the district medical center falsified health insurance records for personal gain.

On November 3, information from the Social Insurance of Tra Vinh City (Tra Vinh Province) said: This agency has transferred the file to the Police of Vung Liem District (Vinh Long Province) to investigate and handle the case of a doctor at Nguyen Van Thu Medical Center who falsified medical records to take advantage of health insurance.

Previously, Tra Vinh City Social Insurance received a complaint from Ms. Pham Thi Quy (residing in Hamlet 1, Ward 6) about using her health insurance card to go to a medical center in Tra Vinh City for a medical examination but was unable to do so. Medical staff said that the insurance system informed Ms. Quy that she was taking medication as prescribed at Nguyen Van Thu Medical Center until the end of the month. Therefore, Ms. Quy could not continue to see a doctor as requested.

In fact, according to Ms. Quy, she herself never went to Nguyen Van Thu Medical Center for medical examination and treatment and never lent or lost her health insurance card to anyone.

Through verification, Tra Vinh City Social Insurance said: Ms. Quy's health insurance card code generated 7 medical examinations by Dr. Le Thanh Phuoc of Nguyen Van Thu Medical Center. Through working, Dr. Le Thanh Phuoc admitted that a relative provided Ms. Quy's information and then arbitrarily ordered medical examinations, prescribed prescriptions and signed Ms. Quy's signature in the patient's confirmation section to take advantage of the health insurance fund.

Also according to Tra Vinh City Social Insurance, in addition to Ms. Quy's case, Dr. Le Thanh Phuoc also took advantage of knowing the health insurance information of several other individuals in Tra Vinh City to falsify medical records for personal gain.
