The auto market records 5 notable 'newcomers'
Automakers are warming up the gloomy atmosphere of overall purchasing power in the Vietnamese market with the appearance of a series of new models.
Among the "newcomers" that have just been launched or are about to be introduced to the market, there are 5 notable models. This is a group of cars that are not much affected by the tax reduction roadmap under the ASEAN Trade in Goods Agreement (ATIGA).
Honda CR-V

Honda's mid-size SUV will have a 5+2 option instead of just 5 seats like the previous generation. |
According to plan, Honda's mid-size SUV will officially launch in the market in mid-November 2017.
The Vietnamese automobile market is still in a gloomy situation in terms of purchasing power due to the psychology of waiting for completely imported cars from Southeast Asian countries, including Honda CR-V, with the new tax rate of 0%. Therefore, the appearance of the completely new generation CR-V at this time is somewhat surprising.
The most reasonable explanation for the early launch of the CR-V is probably the Japanese joint venture’s desire to get ahead of the market. Therefore, it is not impossible that Honda will not announce the official retail price for the CR-V but wait until early 2018.
The new generation CR-V promises to have a "makeover" to compete with strong rivals in the segment. Similar to Nissan X-Trail or Mitsubishi Outlander, CR-V will also have the option of version 5 2 with the addition of a series of new technologies.

The compact SUV version of the German car brand is considered a "street supercar". The Mercedes-AMG GLA 45 4Matic is equipped with the world's most powerful 4-cylinder engine, producing a maximum capacity of 381 horsepower and a maximum torque of 475 Nm.
Combined with the AMG Speedshift 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, this street "super car" can accelerate from 0-100km/h in just 4.4 seconds and become one of the fastest accelerating SUVs in the world today.
The Mercedes-AMG GLA 45 4Matic was just introduced by the German auto joint venture at the Vietnam International Motor Show 2017 at the end of October in Ho Chi Minh City. The car is distributed on the market with a retail price of 2.399 billion VND.

Cayenne 2018 in Vietnam market has 2 engine options: 340 horsepower and 440 horsepower. |
The German sports car company will officially introduce the new generation Cayenne to the Vietnamese market in mid-November 2017. Previously, the official Porsche distributor also received orders for this high-end SUV model.
Porsche's "tradition" is to rarely make too many changes to the exterior design. Therefore, the 2018 Cayenne is not much different from the previous generation except for some highlights such as large air intakes, new LED headlights, and Panamera Sport Turismo-style taillights.
In return, the interior of the Cayenne has undergone significant changes. The newly designed center console harmoniously combines the control system between two modern digital styles and traditional analog styles. The car is equipped with an entertainment system with a 12.3-inch high-definition touch screen with internet connection and a sound system with 2 options: Bose or Burmester.
The 2018 Cayenne in the Vietnamese market has 2 engine options. The standard version uses a 3.0-liter V6 turbocharged engine with a maximum capacity of 340 horsepower and a maximum torque of 450 Nm. The sports version uses a 2.9-liter V6 twin-turbo engine with a maximum capacity of 440 horsepower and a maximum torque of 550 Nm. The car is equipped with an 8-speed automatic transmission and a full-time four-wheel drive system.
The standard version has a starting price of 4.54 billion VND while the sports version (S) has a starting price of 5.47 billion VND.
Range Rover Velar

The highlight of Velar is the frame made of 80% aluminum, making the body of the car significantly lighter. |
After the appearance of Jaguar F-Pace, the British car company continues to bring Land Rover Range Rover Velar to Vietnam. Although they are "brothers", F-Pace and Velar still have 2 different brands and different styles, so competing in the same segment is not a concern.
The highlight of the Velar is the chassis made of 80% aluminum, making the body significantly lighter. The car uses a 3.0-liter V6 supercharged Si6 engine, an 8-speed gearbox and a 4-wheel drive system. This engine block produces a maximum capacity of 380 horsepower and a maximum torque of 450 Nm, a maximum speed of 250 km / h and the ability to accelerate from 0-100 km / h in 5.7 seconds.
Official distributor Dai A brings 3 versions of Velar to the Vietnamese market. Of which, the Base SE version has a standard retail price from 4.895 billion VND, the R-Dynamic version has a price from 5.095 billion VND. The First Edition version currently has no specific price.
Volvo XC60

The XC60 is fortunate to be the first model to be equipped with the leading safety technologies that are Volvo's strong points. |
Participating in a major exhibition in Vietnam for the first time, the Swedish auto brand immediately created an attraction when bringing in the all-new generation of mid-size SUV XC60. Not the S90 sedan or the large SUV XC90, but the XC60 is the name that "polishes" the Volvo brand at the Vietnam International Motor Show (VIMS) 2017.
The XC60 is fortunate to be the first model equipped with the leading safety technologies that are Volvo's strengths. Notably, for the first time, the XC60 has automatic obstacle avoidance technology when facing unexpected dangerous situations that the driver cannot react to.
The new generation Volvo XC60 is expected to be officially introduced to the market in mid-November 2017. Previously, the XC60 T6 AWD Inscription version was displayed at the VIMS 2017 exhibition. This version is equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine, maximum capacity of 320 horsepower and maximum torque of 400 Nm. The car can accelerate from 0-100km/h in 5.9 seconds and has a maximum speed of 230 km/h.
