Face ID on iPhone X accepted by banks
Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) is the first bank to allow customers to switch from fingerprint login to facial recognition using Face ID.
According to CBA, Face ID will perform a deep facial scan from more than 30,000 identifying features and is considered one of the most secure ways to log into a bank account today.
However, there are also concerns from experts that Face ID needs to be deployed and closely monitored because criminals will have tricks to exploit this technology.
In general, using Face ID on iPhone is more secure and convenient than using a password. Facial recognition records are stored on the iPhone's encryption chip and are not transferred outside.
Many banks now use Touch ID for mobile logins. Apps that previously used Touch ID will now support Face ID, according to Apple. Apple claims Face ID is a secure method for banks and businesses.
