(Baonghean.vn)- Recently in an interview with CNBC, Egyptian President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi welcomed the efforts of his American counterpart, and affirmed that President Donald Trump is improving the fragile security situation in the Middle East.

President al-Sisi is considered an ally of the United States. President Trump previously praised his Egyptian counterpart as a leader who “has done a fantastic job in a difficult situation.”

Egypt's president has dismissed suggestions that the US pledge to withdraw from the Iran nuclear deal could destabilize the region.

Instead, Mr. al-Sisi asserted that security in the Middle East has improved under Mr. Trump’s leadership. “I see that President Trump is implementing foreign policy well in our region,” the Egyptian leader said. “In short, I can say that the United States has regained its influence in the region and its role, and Washington is maintaining the security of the region and the countries in the region. We fully support and cooperate with President Trump in this matter.”

Referring to the domestic challenges that President Trump is facing, Mr. al-Sisi once again expressed his praise, saying that the US President will succeed in leading the country.

The Egyptian leader stressed that he would strengthen warm relations with Russian President Vladimir Putin, saying that choosing between Russia and the United States was “just an outdated political exercise”.

Also in the interview, Mr. al-Sisi affirmed that he will respect Egypt's constitution, which only allows leaders to hold the position of President for two terms, each term lasting 4 years.
