According to Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Viet Tien, although the rate of men with breast cancer is much lower than that of women, when detected, the disease is often severe, causing pain and requiring more intensive treatment.

The reason is that few men think that men are also at risk of breast cancer, so they do not have mammograms for early diagnosis and intervention.
According to recent reports from cancer experts in Vietnam, there have been no widely publicized cases of male breast cancer in Vietnam, but in the US the number of cases diagnosed and detected each year is up to 1,900.
Doctors also warn that men whose mothers, sisters, or grandmothers have had breast cancer are at higher risk. In the US, this rate is 20% of men diagnosed with breast cancer each year.
In addition, the group with a higher risk of developing the disease than the normal rate is people who have been treated for certain cancers and exposed to radiation in the chest area (such as lymphoma)...
To detect the disease early, doctors recommend that men also need to have their chest checked, especially when there are lumps in the chest, abnormalities in the nipples or abnormalities in the skin of the chest, swollen lymph nodes in the chest or unusual swelling.
