Nghe An invests 550 billion VND in rural transport

(Baonghean.vn) - Since the beginning of the year, Nghe An has built and upgraded 654 km of rural roads of all kinds, with a total cost of 550 billion VND.

Of which, 262 km of village and hamlet roads were asphalted and concreted to meet standards; 231 km of village and hamlet roads were hardened to meet standards; 63 km of alleys and hamlets were cleaned and cleared of mud; and 98 km of main intra-field roads were hardened. Accumulated to October 31, 2017, the whole province had built and upgraded 8,734.4 km of rural roads of all kinds, with a total cost of VND 9,153.1 billion.

Regarding the implementation of the cement support policy, since the beginning of the year, 44,229 tons have been provided to communes (the 2017 plan is 60,572 tons), and 231 km of roads have been built. Thus, the total amount of cement provided since the program was implemented has reached 546,324 tons, equivalent to VND 846,802 billion; 2,928 km have been built, reaching 95% of the plan).

Up to now, according to criterion number 02 on transportation, the whole province has 206/431 communes meeting the criteria, accounting for 47.8%.

Implementing the National Criteria for New Rural Areas, up to now, the whole province has 152/431 communes meeting the New Rural Area standards recognized by the Provincial People's Committee, accounting for 35.3%; The average criteria for the whole province is 14.2 criteria/commune, an increase of 0.7 criteria/commune compared to the end of 2016.

In addition to implementing the construction of 3 model new rural communes: Son Thanh (Yen Thanh), Quynh Doi (Quynh Luu) and Kim Lien (Nam Dan), in 2017, Nghe An focused on directing Nam Dan district to complete the goal of building a new rural district. Up to now, Nam Dan has had 3 communes/plan 5 communes completed the appraisal, and 2 communes are expected to complete the appraisal before November 15, 2017 and strive to appraise the new rural district in 2017 according to the plan.
