Nghe An plans to build a high-tech nuclear pig farm
(Baonghean.vn) - According to Nghe An's high-tech agricultural development orientation by 2030, Nghe An will build 20% of beef cattle farms with high-tech applications. There are also nuclear pig farms in Anh Son.
Accordingly, Nghe An will develop existing cattle farms in Nghi Lam - Nghi Loc commune with a scale of 3,000 - 5,000 cows/year; expand the Australian cattle farm of Kieu Phuong Company (Tan Ky); and at the same time build a number of new CNC beef cattle farms in Quynh Luu, Nghi Loc, Hung Nguyen, Nam Dan, Do Luong, Thanh Chuong, Anh Son, Yen Thanh, Dien Chau; each farm has a scale of 2,000 - 4,000 cows/year.

By 2020, Nghe An will form 3-4 high-tech breeding and beef cattle areas meeting high-tech agricultural criteria at farms in Tan Ky, Nghi Loc, Quynh Luu districts and Hoang Mai town with a scale of 20,000 - 30,000 heads/year/farm.
In addition, build and develop high-tech pig farms in the districts of Nghi Loc, Nam Dan, Thanh Chuong, Do Luong, Anh Son, Yen Thanh, Tan Ky, Nghia Dan.
Mr. Nguyen Van Lap, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Nghe An province, said: Nghe An is forming and developing the high-tech pig farm cluster Masan Nutri - Farm Nghe An in Ha Son commune, Quy Hop district of Masan Group Joint Stock Company. The farm area is 224 hectares with a scale of 230,000 pigs (including about 220,000 pigs for meat and 10,000 breeding sows), with a total investment of about 1,000 billion VND.
In addition, the Mavin Group's high-tech nuclear pig farm in Hung Son commune, Anh Son district, with a total investment of 18 million USD, has been established and developed. The farm area is 100 hectares, with a scale of 10,000 sows and 125,000 pigs/year.
The core pig farm will be responsible for crossbreeding the original herd and producing high-quality breeding pigs and commercial pigs.
"Currently, we are conducting a feasibility study to establish a food processing plant in Nghe An, which may be implemented in 2018 with a total investment of 25 million USD on an area of 5 hectares. The plant will have a capacity of 200,000 tons/year with processed products from meat, sausages, ham and traditional meat products" - Chairman of Mavin Group, Mr. David John Whitehead said.

Nghe An also developed a CNC pig breeding farm in Nam Hung commune, Nam Dan district, invested by Dai Thanh Loc Company Limited. The farm area is 26 hectares, with a scale of 2,400 breeding sows, providing about 70,000 - 80,000 pigs for meat/year.
