Research on the use of artificial gypsum as cement additive.

According to the environmental impact assessment when constructing the factory, the GYPS landfill has a scale of 40 hectares, located separately outside the factory premises and divided into two landfills, separated from each other.

On July 23, 2002, the Prime Minister issued Decision 626/QD-TTg "Approving the Feasibility Study Report on the investment project of the gypsum phosphate fertilizer factory in Dinh Vu Economic Zone, Hai Phong" as well as the content of the DAP fertilizer factory project mentioning the coordination with the cement production industry to treat GYPS waste and reproduce construction materials.

Some studies show that GYPS waste contains high CaSO4 content so it can be used to research and produce artificial cement, a cementitious additive.

To implement the above policy, on November 5, 2014, DAP Company and Vietnam Cement Industry Corporation signed an agreement to research the use of artificial gypsum as a cement additive and establish an investment project to build an artificial gypsum factory in Dinh Vy, Hai Phong.

This cooperation opens a new direction in proactively sourcing gypsum for domestic cement production, moving towards reducing the cost of Vincem's cement products. The investment comes from the need to ensure timely supply of gypsum for Vicem's cement plants in the North.

Utilizing all the waste materials, the amount of cement produced as well as the amount of cement exported abroad increased significantly. This brought great benefits to the environment.

Investment project, capacity enhancement at a prestigious production facility, rich in tradition in the cement industry, with a team of experienced staff, engineers, workers, who have been challenged in production operations. DAP Joint Stock Company and Vietnam Cement Industry Corporation are units with sufficient potential in finance, management, and technology.

It is worth mentioning that the use of artificial gypsum in the world has existed for a long time, but in Vietnam, its use for cement production is still poor. Faced with this difficulty, Vicem But Son has conducted research on cement production from waste sources, with initial high feasibility.
