Vietnamese students in the world's top 10 Robotics

The Vietnamese student team participating in the International Robotics Competition - World Robotics Olympiad (WRO) 2017 held in Costa Rica, which just ended on the morning of November 13, 2017 (Hanoi time), won 10th place out of 86 teams participating in the competition in the category for middle school students.

Winning a high ranking in this world Robotics competition is the team of students from Wellspring Hanoi Bilingual School (Bo De, Long Bien, Hanoi).

According to the final ranking of the Organizing Committee, in addition to the top 10 achievement in the category for secondary school students, the Wellspring Hanoi school team also won 13th place out of 81 teams participating in WRO 2017 in the Primary category.

With this result, the two teams of Wellspring Hanoi School achieved the highest results among the Vietnamese student teams participating in the competition and brought achievements back to the country.

According to information from the WRO 2017 Organizing Committee, this year's competition attracted 55 countries with more than 500 teams competing in groups for primary, secondary and high school ages. Vietnamese students from 12 teams from Wellspring Hanoi, Tran Van On Secondary School (HCMC), Le Hong Phong Specialized High School (HCMC), Tran Dai Nghia High School (HCMC), Nguyen Van To Secondary School (HCMC), Wellspring HCMC... represented Vietnam to compete with teams from countries around the world.

The teams competed in 5 rounds to select the top 64 teams to compete in the finals. The final results after three days of competition (from November 10 to 12, 2017) showed that two teams of students from Wellspring School achieved the above high results.

The World Robot Olympiad (WRO) is a major global event on science and technology for young people from 7 to 19 years old. This is an opportunity for young people from all over the world to demonstrate their creativity and problem-solving skills through competitions and challenges on Robotics - a great platform for developing the necessary skills for young people in the 21st century.

First held in 2004, WRO now has more than 60 member countries. WRO receives support from many organizations and companies around the world; it is held annually and rotates locations in member countries. WRO 2017 was held from November 10-12, 2017 in Costa Rica.
