Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa, former Vice Chairman of Tam Anh Nam Commune People's Committee |
Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa (51 years old, former vice chairman of the People's Committee of Tam Anh Nam commune, Nui Thanh district, Quang Nam province) said that the People's Council of the commune had previously elected him as vice chairman of the People's Committee of the commune.
In December 2016, because he felt he was not capable of doing the job well, he submitted a resignation letter but was encouraged by the commune and district leaders to continue working.
However, according to his wishes, in June 2017, the district decided to process his resignation request even though his name was included in the planning for the position of commune chairman for the 2021-2026 term.
"It's nothing. I found myself not doing my job well, no longer capable of completing many tasks well. When I was elected as vice chairman of the commune, I was excited, determined, and wanted to do better. But after a while, I found myself not being able to do it, and after working with the job, I found it unsuitable, and unable to meet the people's expectations, so I quit."
According to him, there are many issues that have existed since his previous term that he has not been able to resolve, such as market management in the area and the handling of small traders encroaching on the sidewalks for business has not been good.
Regarding the resolution of some existing projects such as the expansion of National Highway 1, the Da Nang - Quang Ngai Expressway through the area, site clearance, land planning, and land acquisition, he found that he was still slow.
"I feel like there is too much work piled up, a lot of pressure but limited ability. In addition, I am not satisfied with the way I work, I feel like I have not done many things well, and sometimes people are not satisfied either," said Mr. Khoa.
According to him, this is voluntary, not influenced by anyone, there is no persecution.
"I think if I can't do it now, sitting there will be a hindrance, leaving no opportunity for others, especially young, capable officials," Mr. Khoa said.
He said when he quit his job, he returned to his hometown to grow rice, raise shrimp, and help his family.
Mr. Nguyen Van Mau, Chairman of the People's Committee of Nui Thanh district, said that Mr. Khoa is still working well, but because he feels the work pressure is too much for his ability and his health is not good for the long term, he asked to quit.
"Considering his needs and wishes, the Party and district government agreed to let him retire. During his work, Mr. Khoa was not disciplined in any way, and his resignation was not under any pressure or constraint from any side," said Mr. Mau.
