Is facial recognition less secure than fingerprints?
During the introduction of technology that surpasses Face ID (facial recognition) on iPhone X, Bkav representative commented: "Apple's Face ID is inferior to Samsung's technology, and is not as good as fingerprint recognition."

Is facial recognition less secure than fingerprints? |
With the introduction of Face ID on the iPhone X generation, Apple experts hope that this system will replace the current security encryption technology, of which the fingerprint recognition system is the most typical. However, during the announcement of the principles and methods for finding vulnerabilities in the iPhone X's Face ID facial recognition system, Bkav CEO Nguyen Tu Quang affirmed: "Face ID technology is not as secure as Apple claims."
The mask was created by combining 3D printing techniques, 2D imaging, some special processing, "even the cheeks were made with double-sided tape, bought for 10,000 VND at a grocery store," said Mr. Quang.
According to Bkav's leader, Apple's Face ID technology in particular and facial recognition technology in general are still not mature enough after 10 years of development.
Without Apple’s tweaks, Face ID on the iPhone X would probably be worse than Samsung’s Iris Scanner, which at least, while fooled by masks, can still distinguish between identical twins. Face ID can’t. Fingerprints are still the best biometric technology to date.

However, even security technology using fingerprint sensors can be easily bypassed within… 5 minutes.
Vkansee, a company based in Beijing, China, experimented with a mold and clay. After just a few tries, they were able to unlock the phone easily.
One notable point that users should pay attention to is that fingerprint security will not be effective when you are sleeping, drunk... then it is quite easy for others to use your own finger to unlock. Obviously, at that time, a lot of personal information can be leaked, even banking payment apps.
For the most manual security method, which is also considered the most secure, is to enter a password consisting of numbers into the phone. However, this is only a theoretical calculation, because if a hacker only needs to monitor you when entering the password, the password security method will quickly be disabled.
To ensure the safety of your smartphone, be careful when giving your phone to others; use some security applications (separate passwords for important data, erase data...) in case you accidentally lose your phone;
When using cracked applications of unknown origin... There is no smartphone with the best security in the world, even if you own the best smartphones today that support fingerprint security, retinal scanning... it still cannot guarantee absolute safety. The key factor is the user's usage habits.
