Legendary band member accused of raping female singer
Singer Nick Carter, a member of the legendary boy band Backstreet Boys, has been accused by a young female singer of raping her 13 years ago.
Singer Melissa Schuman - member of the girl group Dream - has just accused Nick Carter (member of the Backstreet Boys) of raping her 13 years ago.
Melissa said that in 2004, when she was 18, Nick Carter molested and raped her at her home. The singer shared this incident through a personal blog post. According to a source of New Week, at the time of the incident, Melissa and Nick were dating.
Both were actors in the movie The Hollow (2004). At that time, Nick Carter, 22 years old, invited Melissa and a friend of hers to his private apartment in Santa Monica, California (USA), to meet and have a party.
"That night, my friend and I went to an apartment that had no furniture, no living room, no dining room, just a TV and the video game Nick was playing," she said.

The two then drank, Carter playing his new songs. They started kissing in the bathroom and Nick Carter started to perform a sexual act on her despite her not consenting.
Melissa continued that Nick then took her into the bedroom and forced himself on her, although Melissa insisted that she resisted because she wanted to preserve her virginity until marriage. "Nick said he could be my husband. I felt like I lost all my strength and fell asleep without knowing it," Melissa said.
Later that night, Nick Carter continued to call Melissa, but she didn't answer. The two ended their relationship after he left her an angry, rude text message.

Thirteen years ago, Melissa Schuman starred alongside Nick Carter in The Hollow. |
However, after the incident died down, Melissa signed with Nick's management, hoping to develop a music career. Accordingly, Melissa and Nick performed a duet together but recorded their parts completely separately. Then the manager suddenly refused to collaborate with her.
"I confided in my manager, Nils Larsen. He said he would do some research and find a good lawyer for me. However, Larsen said that Nick Carter is a powerful artist in the music industry. This would be detrimental to my career," the singer shared.
Because of this, Melissa Schuman decided to stay silent. She later said that she no longer performed and was no longer interested in pursuing a music career.
Currently, singer Nick Carter's representative has not yet responded to this allegation.
