"In 2017, Russian weapons were sold to 59 countries around the world, regular contacts in the field of military-technical cooperation were maintained with 80 countries and, most importantly, the list of military orders did not decrease," Putin said at the closing meeting of the series on military topics.

The Russian leader stressed that the potential of the Russian defense industry, the constant improvement of weapons and equipment, including the use of technologies in real combat conditions, "allows Russia to maintain leading positions among world exporters of military products, to dynamically develop military-technical cooperation with partner countries."

However, it is necessary to think about countermeasures against the possibility of new external restrictions on the Russian defense industry, calculating the corresponding risks, - the President reminded.
