Barrier pierces through car, 2 people die

Two people died and two others are in critical condition after a seven-seater car crashed into a roadside embankment.

On the afternoon of November 25, Major Mai Thanh Tam, Deputy Chief of Dai Loc District Police (Quang Nam) said that the serious accident occurred at around 1:00 a.m. this morning.

At this time, a 7-seat car with license plate 92A-067.89 was traveling from Da Nang City to Nam Giang (Quang Nam) on National Highway 14B; when it reached Lam Tay village (Dai Dong commune, Dai Loc district), it lost control and crashed into an iron embankment on the side of the road.

The consequences caused 2 people to die on the spot, including Pham Quoc Hung (born 1985) and Vo Hoang Nam (born 1993).

Two other people in the car who were seriously injured were Nguyen Van Thanh (born in 1974) and Phan Nhu Son (born in 1985). All four victims were from Nam Giang district.

As of noon today, the injured victims are being treated in Da Nang.

The accident caused severe damage to the car, the front end was crushed. A section of the embankment pierced through the front of the car.

After the accident, Dai Loc police were present to inspect the scene and regulate traffic. By this morning, the accident vehicle had been removed from the scene.

“Initial investigation results show that the car crashed into the embankment. Authorities have handed over the deceased victims to their families,” said Major Tam.

The cause of the accident is being further investigated by authorities.
