Coach Hoang Van Phuc: Winning against the 'big guys', Quang Nam is the champion, there's nothing to argue about!

Quang Nam has won the historic V.League championship in the most dramatic way. However, behind the throne of the Quang Nam team, there are still many conflicting opinions from fans and audiences.

Coach Hoang Van Phuc had an interview with Lao Dong about the historic championship he helped the Tam Ky team achieve after 4 years of playing in the V.League.

From a team considered a dark horse, Quang Nam went all the way to the championship. How do you evaluate the last season of Quang Nam team?

- This year's season, Quang Nam did not have a very good start when they were continuously at the bottom of the rankings. However, gradually the players regained their focus. Especially after the break to prepare for the 29th SEA Games, my team returned to the V.League quite impressively.

The key to Quang Nam winning the championship is that we have almost eliminated all strong opponents such as Hanoi, FLC Thanh Hoa, Than Quang Ninh. This makes Quang Nam superior to its opponents even though it has a smaller force than other teams.

That said, the championship for Quang Nam is completely deserved, don't you think?

- Actually, the final result says it all. I would also like to emphasize that Quang Nam does not have a quality squad, and has not had strong financial investment. But they still surpassed other strong teams to win the championship. That is thanks to the efforts, solidarity and spirit of dedication to the province's football fans. This is like giving my students more strength.

As everyone saw in the last home match, despite playing with one less player and missing many key players, Quang Nam had a very impressive performance to win the championship right in Tam Ky, in front of thousands of fans present at the stadium to support the team. For me, Quang Nam winning the championship is extremely worthy.

Some people say that there was an arrangement by Mr. Hien for Quang Nam to win the championship. What is your opinion on this issue?

- Everyone has the right to think and express their personal opinions. But in my opinion, before judging something, don't deny the efforts of our entire football team. Quang Nam does not play for anyone, we play football for the joy and pride of the people of our province, play for the passion and life of the players, not for any other reason.

Audiences or fans are also biased towards certain teams, so they often have unfair thoughts. However, that is my personal opinion, I don't care about those things.

After this historic championship, do you have a specific plan for Quang Nam to continue to leave its mark next season?

- For now, we will rest after a long time of exerting ourselves in the V.League. As for the plan for the new season, the leaders and the coaching staff have a specific plan for the Quang Nam team.
