Russian Su 30 intercepted US naval aircraft over the Black Sea?

A Russian Su-30 fighter jet intercepted a US P-8A Poseidon anti-submarine aircraft over the Black Sea on Saturday, CNN quoted Pentagon spokeswoman Michelle Baldanza as saying.

"The US aircraft was operating in international airspace and did nothing to warrant such actions from the Russian side," Ms. Baldanza told CNN, calling such actions "unsafe."

Russia has yet to comment on this statement.

The Boeing P-8 Poseidon is an American anti-submarine warfare (ASW) patrol aircraft designed to detect and destroy enemy submarines, as well as engage in anti-ship and rescue operations.
