Steal luxury cars without keys
In less than a minute, the Mercedes was unlocked and driven away with almost no effort on the part of the two strangers.
Each of the two men held a device, one to receive the signal from the key in the house, the other like a transmitter. In just a few dozen seconds, the two mysterious devices made the car "think" that the key was present and opened the door. The Mercedes was then driven away without anyone noticing.
This is believed to be the first time this type of crime has been caught on camera. The location was in front of a house on a roadside in the West Midlands (UK).
Local police later advised drivers to take maximum precautions by using a "tested and certified auxiliary steering lock to lock the entire steering wheel".
The video has now been viewed more than 6 million times since it was posted on social media about 9 hours ago. One person commented, “I’m lucky I drive an old car with a physical key.” Another agreed, noting that expensive cars are more likely to be stolen these days than older models.
