(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of November 30, North Korea released a series of images of the Hwasong-15 intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) that Pyongyang had previously launched towards the Sea of Japan.

Yonhap News described the Hwasong-15 ICBM as having many different features compared to the previous version of the Hwasong-14 ICBM. The head of North Korea's latest ICBM is round and blunt, mounted on a specialized missile transporter. The length of the Hwasong-15 missile is also longer than the Hwasong-14 missile.

In addition to images of the Hwasong-15 missile, the Rodong Sinmun newspaper of the Workers' Party of Korea also published photos featuring leader Kim Jong-Un.

Specifically, Mr. Kim Jong-Un directly inspected the Hwasong-15 missile and monitored flight data towards the Sea of Japan through a screen.

North Korea also announced that it had completed its national nuclear goals and asserted that its ICBM missile system was capable of striking any part of the United States. Pyongyang even emphasized its readiness to launch a “super-heavy” nuclear warhead.

In a related development, at a meeting held by the United Nations Security Council immediately after North Korea's missile launch, US Ambassador Nikki Haley issued a warning to leader Kim Jong-Un.

“We have never been at war with North Korea and we will not be at war now. If war breaks out, it will be because of the aggression we all witnessed yesterday. And if war does come, it will be through no fault of ours, North Korea will be utterly destroyed,” Ambassador Nikki Haley said.

Earlier, on the morning of November 29, North Korea unexpectedly launched a Hwasong-15 ballistic missile toward the Sea of Japan from the vicinity of Pyongsong, South Pyongan Province. The missile flew about 960 km with a maximum angle of about 4,500 km.

Reuters said the launch was the latest by North Korea since mid-September and came a week after US President Donald Trump placed North Korea on a list of state sponsors of terrorism, a move that allows the US to impose further sanctions, although experts warned it risks raising tensions on the Korean peninsula.
