Adding 6 countries whose citizens are granted e-visas to Vietnam

The Government has just issued Resolution 124/NQ-CP adding to the list of countries whose citizens are eligible for pilot electronic visas.

Specifically, the Government decided to add to Appendix I the List of six countries whose citizens are eligible for pilot electronic visa issuance as prescribed in Clause 1, Article 9 of Decree 07/2017/ND-CP dated January 25, 2017 of the Government regulating the procedures for piloting the issuance of electronic visas for foreigners entering Vietnam, including: Australia, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Canada, Republic of India, Kingdom of the Netherlands and New Zealand.

Previously, Decree No. 07/2017/ND-CP stipulated that 40 countries whose citizens are eligible for pilot electronic visa issuance.

Decree No. 07/2017/ND-CP stipulates the procedures for piloting the issuance of electronic visas for foreigners entering Vietnam. Foreigners requesting an electronic visa must do the following: access the Electronic Visa Information Page to fill in the information for the electronic visa application, upload photos and passport personal information page according to the form; receive the electronic application code, and pay the visa fee to the account specified on the Electronic Visa Information Page.

Within three working days from the date of receiving complete information on the application for an electronic visa and visa fee, the Immigration Department shall consider, resolve and respond to the applicant for an electronic visa at the Electronic Visa Information Page.

Foreigners applying for an electronic visa use the electronic file code to check the processing results of the Immigration Department at the Electronic Visa Information Page. In case an electronic visa is granted, the electronic file code is used to print the visa./.
