Nghe An: Suspect detained, prosecuted case of female student murder on mountain top

On the afternoon of December 2, Con Cuong District Police (Nghe An) announced that they had initiated a case, prosecuted the accused, and temporarily detained Pham Van Quy (18 years old, residing in Chi Khe commune, Con Cuong district) for 4 months for murder.
Police determined that Quy was the person who directly murdered Ms. Pham Thi Hang (17 years old, residing in Bong Khe commune, Con Cuong district).

Earlier, late on December 1, authorities discovered the body of Ms. Pham Thi Hang at the top of Pu Mat Mountain (Con Cuong District). After collecting evidence and examining the scene, the police immediately decided to arrest Pham Van Quy.
The investigation agency initially determined that Quy murdered Ms. Hang around the afternoon of November 29 at the area where the victim's body was found. The victim suffered more than 10 injuries.
Regarding the injury on the body of the defendant Quy when he said that he was beaten by someone else and had to go to the hospital for examination, he was lying. In reality, Quy had caused the injury on his own body.
Currently, the suspect Quy has been transferred to Nghe An Provincial Police for further investigation.
As reported by Nghe An Newspaper, on December 1, Con Cuong District Police received a report from the family that Pham Thi Hang (17 years old) had been missing for more than 3 days. According to a relative’s report to the police, at around 12 noon on November 29, Hang told her mother that she was going to Cay Chanh market in Anh Son district to buy clothes with her boyfriend. When leaving the house, Hang forgot to bring her cell phone. At 12 o'clock that night, the family did not see Hang return so they were anxious to find her. After that, the family contacted Hang's lover named Quy (18 years old, Chi Khe commune, Con Cuong district) who was working as a welder and received information that Quy was seriously injured and was being treated at the Southwest Nghe An Regional General Hospital. Regarding Hang's disappearance, Quy told his family that he had taken Hang home at 12 midnight. When they reached the alley leading to the house, Hang got out of the car, while Quy continued to Don Phuc commune for some business. After that, Quy said he did not know Hang's whereabouts. |
