1. Polish President pays state visit to Vietnam

On November 27, Polish President Andrzej Duda and his wife Agata Kornhauser-Duda arrived in Hanoi, beginning a State visit to Vietnam from November 27-30 at the invitation of President Tran Dai Quang.

On the morning of November 28, at the Presidential Palace, President Tran Dai Quang and his wife hosted a solemn welcoming ceremony for President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda. Afterwards, the two heads of state attended talks between the two delegations and a signing ceremony of documents between Vietnam and Poland.

On the same day, the Polish President had a meeting with General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc. Also within the framework of the visit, President Andrzej Duda and his wife, along with a high-ranking Polish delegation, visited Ho Chi Minh City and attended many activities there.

2. National Assembly Chairman visits Singapore and Australia

On the morning of November 26, at the invitation of the Australian Parliament, Government and Singapore Parliament, a high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese National Assembly led by Politburo member and National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan left Hanoi for an official visit to Singapore and Australia from November 26 to December 2.

3. National conference to disseminate Central Resolution 6

Head of the Central Propaganda Department Vo Van Thuong delivered the opening speech at the conference.

On the morning of November 29, the Central Party Secretariat held a national online conference to study and disseminate the Resolution of the 6th Central Conference, 12th tenure of the Party.

Speaking at the opening of the conference, Head of the Central Propaganda Department Vo Van Thuong said that the 6th Central Conference of the 12th tenure discussed and decided to issue very important resolutions and conclusions.

Including 4 Resolutions: Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW on a number of issues on continuing to innovate and reorganize the apparatus of the political system to be streamlined and operate effectively and efficiently; Resolution No. 19-NQ/TW on continuing to innovate the organizational and management system, improving the quality and efficiency of public service units; Resolution No. 20-NQ/TW on strengthening the work of protecting, caring for and improving people's health in the new situation; Resolution No. 21-NQ/TW on population work in the new situation.

4. The Government holds its regular meeting in November 2017.

The meeting discussed a number of key contents including the socio-economic situation in November and 11 months; draft Resolutions of the Government promulgating the Action Program to implement Resolution 6 of the Central Committee on continuing to innovate and reorganize the apparatus of the political system; on innovation of public service units; on health and population; amending and supplementing Laws related to land, construction, housing, environment, business investment, specialized inspection and planning, etc.

The Government also reviewed reports summarizing proposals for the development of laws and ordinances; reviewed the 5-year implementation of the Human Resources Development Strategy and Plan for the 2011-2020 period; and the Project on restructuring public investment...

5. Child-related incidents that shocked the country

- Child abuse case at Mam Xanh kindergarten (Ho Chi Minh city)

Last week, the press published an investigative clip about the abuse of children by nannies at Mam Xanh Kindergarten in District 12, Ho Chi Minh City. The incident was discovered and caused public outrage. The police investigated and the Mam Xanh Kindergarten was suspended.

Ho Chi Minh City authorities also directed relevant authorities of District 12 to clarify and strictly handle the case. The owner of Mam Xanh kindergarten was arrested by the police, after which the nannies also went to the police station to present themselves.

- The case of a grandmother murdering a 20-day-old baby girl

On the evening of November 28, Lieutenant Colonel Trinh Huu Thanh, Chief of Police of Bim Son town (Thanh Hoa), said that the suspect in the murder of the 20-day-old baby girl was Mrs. Pham Thi Xuan (66 years old, from Thai Binh), the victim's grandmother.

"It was not a kidnapping as initially reported. Evidence and testimony show that Ms. Xuan made up the story herself," said Lieutenant Colonel Thanh.

Initially, Ms. Xuan stated that the reason she killed her granddaughter was because she listened to a fortune teller. Once, when she went to see a fortune teller, the fortune teller said that “the girl was the family’s karma,” so she waited for an opportunity to act.

At around 1:00 p.m. on November 26, NHVK (6 years old, living with his biological mother on Trinh Dinh Trong Street, Phu Trung Ward, Tan Phu District, Ho Chi Minh City) opened the door of his house and walked to a grocery store near his house to buy bread.

At this time, Hoang Nhat Giang (a neighborhood security guard) was at the security checkpoint on Trinh Dinh Trong Street. Seeing K. passing by, Giang suddenly grabbed a small knife (the kind of knife that looks like a razor in a barber shop) and used the knife to control and kill K. After being attacked, K. stretched out and ran a few steps before collapsing and dying on the side of the road.
