Prosecution of the subject who threw cooking oil and shrimp paste into a clothing store to collect debt

To force a fashion shop owner to pay his debt, a group of financial lenders ordered people to use cooking oil and shrimp paste to splash on hundreds of clothes in the shop.

On the afternoon of December 1, the Hoan Kiem District Police (Hanoi) announced that they had just issued a decision to prosecute and temporarily detain Hua Van Huyen (41 years old, residing in Hai Ba Trung District, Hanoi) and Hoang Van Hung (33 years old, residing in Uong Bi, Quang Ninh) for 3 months for the crime of property destruction.

Huyen and Hung were identified as the two suspects responsible for the incident of throwing dirty substances at a clothing store on Hang Ga Street (Hoan Kiem, Hanoi) leading to hundreds of millions of dong in damage. The incident caused a stir in public opinion two weeks ago.

According to the investigation records, Huyen is the owner of a self-drive car rental and financial lending business. Mr. Phan Anh T. (living in Hoan Kiem) stood as guarantor for Mr. K. (Mr. T.’s close friend) to borrow 100 million VND from Huyen.

At first, Mr. T. paid Huyen the interest on his friend's behalf. However, a few months later, Mr. T. was unable to pay the debt and stopped paying. Huyen repeatedly asked Mr. T. to pay for her friend, but he refused and asked to meet K. to resolve the matter.

Hundreds of clothes in the shop were damaged by the subject throwing glass, paint, and shrimp paste.

On the evening of November 17, Huyen directed Hung (an employee of a car rental and financial lending facility) and another person to ride a motorbike, carrying paint, shrimp paste and oil mixed together, and throw them into Mr. T's family's clothing store on Hang Ga street in order to force the victim to pay.

As a result, the incident caused hundreds of clothes in the store to be contaminated and unable to be sold, causing Mr. T's family to suffer a loss of about 300 million VND.

Upon receiving the report, Hoan Kiem District Police quickly began an investigation. On November 24, after consolidating the investigation file, Hoan Kiem District Police summoned the subjects to the headquarters for questioning.

Huyen and Hung confessed to their crimes and confessed to using dirty substances to splash into Mr. T's family's clothing store to force the victim to repay the previous loan.

Currently, the investigation agency is expanding the investigation and arresting subjects related to the case./.
