A US B-1B bomber flew from Guam to western Japan today and joined two Japanese F-15 fighters. It then took part in a military exercise in South Korea with US-South Korean fighters.

B-1B bombers and F-22 Raptors stealth fighters conducted bombing drills, Yonhap reported.

"Through the exercise, South Korea and the United States demonstrated the alliance's strong will and retaliatory capability against North Korea's nuclear and missile threats," the South Korean military said in a statement.

On December 4, the US-South Korean joint military exercise "Vigilant Ace 18" began, with the participation of 230 aircraft of various types, including 12 F-22 and F-35 stealth fighters, with the aim of improving coordination between the US and South Korean air forces and increasing combat effectiveness in practice.

Pyongyang has voiced its opposition to the exercise, saying it will lead to all-out conflict and risk nuclear war.
