Journey increased from 44 to 63 provinces and cities

Head of the Central Organizing Committee Pham Minh Chinh said: "After the renovation, our country only had 44 provincial-level administrative units, but now it has increased to 63. 30 years after the renovation, the whole country has increased by 19 provinces, 178 districts, and 1,136 communes."

The country has gone through many stages of establishment, dissolution, merger, division, and adjustment of administrative boundaries.
