10-year-old boy suffered from bone fractures after being abused: Stepmother reported to the police

The stepmother who allegedly abused a 10-year-old boy has turned herself in to the police.

On the afternoon of December 7, Cau Giay District Police (Hanoi) said that the unit is clarifying the case of Tran Gia K. (10 years old) being abused by his father and stepmother in the area.

The child's biological father is Tran Hoai Nam (born in 1983, residing in Nghia Do ward, Cau Giay district).

Currently, K. is being cared for by his grandparents.

According to a police officer in Cau Giay district, K.'s father and stepmother admitted to beating and torturing the child in the past.

“After receiving information about the incident, we proceeded to verify and asked Trinh (K.’s stepmother) to come to the police station to work. Initially, this person admitted that because K. had secretly eaten beef, she used chopsticks to hit him in the face,” said an officer from Cau Giay District Police.

The house Kh. lives in with his father and stepmother.

Tran Hoai Nam stated that the reason for beating his son was because he was naughty and he had been warned many times without success. The boy's father also admitted to forcing his son to lie face down on the ground, beating him with a whip, and kicking him.

Cau Giay District Police officers said that initial health check results showed that K. had a cracked rib.

Previously, on the afternoon of December 5, due to abuse, K. left her father's rented house in Cau Giay district and returned to her grandfather's house on Hoang Hoa Tham street (Ba Dinh, Hanoi). Upon learning that her child had been abused, Ms. Nguyen Thi N. (K.'s biological mother) went to the police to report the abuse and took her child for a medical examination.

According to Ms. N. and K.'s maternal family, 2 years ago, K. weighed 40 kg, had a handsome, fair face, but after living with her biological father and stepmother, she only weighed more than 20 kg.
