More than four years after the tragic murder of two children, on the morning of December 7, Dak Lak province authorities carried out the lethal injection of death row inmate Vy Be Ngoat.

On the morning of December 7, Mr. Y Thong Kbuor, Deputy Chief Justice of the Dak Lak Provincial People's Court and Chairman of the Provincial Death Penalty Execution Council, said that the authorities had executed death row inmate Vy Be Ngoat (42 years old, residing in Ea Hiao commune, Ea H'leo district) by lethal injection. After the execution, the inmate's body was handed over to his family for burial.

As reported, on the morning of October 21, 2013, Vy Be Ngoat helped his wife push a cart carrying coffee to the market to sell. On the way back, when passing by Ms. Trieu Thi Bai's house (living in the same village), Ngoat discovered a goose in Ms. Bai's yard, so he had the idea of stealing it to use as a snack. While Ngoat was stealing the goose, he was discovered by Ha Cao Nguyen (10 years old, Ms. Bai's son) who said he would tell his parents.
