Nghe An: 11 months, more than 270 serious traffic accidents

(Baonghean.vn) - According to statistics from the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee, in the first 11 months of 2017, there were 271 traffic accidents in the province, killing 171 people and injuring 208 people.

Of these, 159 road accidents occurred, 12 railway accidents; 133 very serious traffic accidents occurred, killing 133 people, injuring 47 people, 6 especially serious traffic accidents occurred, killing 18 people, injuring 3 people.

Notably, in terms of age, those in the 27-55 age group caused 186 accidents, killing 120 people and injuring 135 people, accounting for the highest rate. Next, in turn, were those in the 18-27 age group, 55 years old and older, and 18 years old and younger.

In particular, there are 8 localities with an increase in the number of deaths due to traffic accidents, including: Thanh Chuong, Quy Hop, Nghia Dan, Nghi Loc, Yen Thanh, Nam Dan, Quynh Luu, Que Phong. In particular, Thanh Chuong district has a sudden increase in traffic accidents at a high level, an increase of 16 people = 160%.
