MU vs Man City: Which team has the better lineup?
Before the highly anticipated Manchester derby, let's assess whether Manchester United or Manchester City possesses better players for each position on the pitch.

GOALKEEPER

David de Gea:The 27-year-old goalkeeper is considered by experts to be one of the best goalkeepers in the world alongside Manuel Neuer and Thibaut Courtois. His outstanding performance against Arsenal last weekend highlighted De Gea's importance to MU, and Red Devils fans hope he will continue to frustrate Man City's formidable strikers like Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus in the Manchester derby. (9/10 points)
Ederson:Ederson's consistency in goal has been a key factor in Man City's success this season. No longer making the silly mistakes of his predecessor Claudio Bravo, Ederson has been the most reliable goalkeeper for The Citizens since arriving at Etihad in the summer of 2017. (7/10)
RIGHT BACK

Antonio Valencia:Originally a winger, Valencia gradually transformed into an excellent full-back under the tutelage of Jose Mourinho, possessing the ability to seamlessly transition between attack and defense. It's no coincidence that when Michael Carrick was absent, Valencia was given the captain's armband by "The Special One" (8/10).
Kyle Walker:Man City are fortunate to have Walker – widely considered the best right-back in England right now. The presence of the former Tottenham player significantly strengthens the team's right flank, both in attack and defense. (8/10)
CENTER BACK

Chris Smalling:At the start of the season, Smalling was just a backup, but now he's Mourinho's first choice with Eric Bailly and Phil Jones injured. The English defender is playing better and better and has become a steel shield in front of De Gea's goal. (7/10)
Vincent Kompany:The Belgian international was once the most reliable center-back in the Premier League, but recurring injuries and age have somewhat diminished his form, particularly in terms of speed. Certainly, in tomorrow night's Manchester derby, Kompany's position will be thoroughly exploited by Anthony Martial and Romelu Lukaku. (7/10)
Marcos Rojo:If Mourinho adopts a four-defender formation, Rojo will almost certainly be a starter instead of Victor Lindelof, who has shown considerable improvement recently. Rojo's strength lies in his aggressive tackling, and that's exactly what MU needs to stop the attacking prowess of Manchester City's star-studded lineup. (7/10)
Nicolas Otamendi:Otamendi faced several problems when he first joined Man City, but now he is the heart of the defense. Beyond his defensive duties, the Argentinian international knows how to create breakthroughs with impressive goals. Otamendi has scored four goals against Watford, Burnley, Napoli, and West Ham this season. (7/10)
LEFT BACK

Ashley Young:Similar to Valencia, Young was originally a winger but was moved to play as a defender. However, whenever given the opportunity, the player born in 1985 always gave his all. In the last four Premier League matches, Young shone brightly with two goals and two assists, bringing valuable victories to MU (7/10).
Fabian Delph:Benjamin Mendy's long-term injury led Guardiola to decide to use Delph at left-back. He played with passion and performed quite well in the role. (7/10)
DEFENSIVE MIDFIELDER

Nemanja Matic:The decision to sell Matic to Manchester United is still widely considered one of Chelsea's biggest mistakes. At Old Trafford, the Serbian star proved he was a "monster" in midfield with his unparalleled ability to clear the ball and recover possession. (8/10)
Fernandinho:The Brazilian player is an irreplaceable asset in Guardiola's tactical system. Fernandinho always plays in the deepest position to shield and cover for the back four. Additionally, when needed, Fernandinho can push forward and unleash powerful shots. (8/10)
CENTRAL MIDFIELDER

Ander Herrera:The former Bilbao midfielder was Manchester United's best player last season. This season, Herrera has lost his starting position, but with Paul Pogba suspended, the 28-year-old will almost certainly start, and his role will be nothing less than neutralizing Kevin De Bruyne. (6/10)
Kevin De Bruyne:One of the players Mourinho needs to pay special attention to is De Bruyne, the brains of Man City, and if the Belgian star is given space to operate freely, MU will pay a heavy price. (9/10)
Marouane Fellaini:If Fellaini is fit, Mourinho could deploy him alongside Matic and Herrera to form a three-man midfield. Fellaini's tough, aggressive, and physical style of play is a powerful weapon that can disrupt Manchester City's game. Furthermore, with his height advantage, Fellaini will be a constant threat to The Citizens in aerial situations. (6/10)
David Silva:De Bruyne is excellent, but Silva is the "glue" that holds Manchester City's play together. The Spanish international's exquisite passing will be key to helping Guardiola's team break through the concrete wall of the home team, Manchester United. (8/10)
RIGHT WING FORWARD

Jesse Lingard:The young English striker is in superb form and Mourinho hopes his pupil will continue to shine like he did in the 3-1 victory against Arsenal. (6/10)
Raheem Sterling:The former Liverpool striker is maturing and consistently delivering invaluable points for Man City. Manchester United will certainly need to be very wary of Sterling, especially towards the end of matches, if they don't want to suffer a defeat. Sterling scored the winning goals in matches against Napoli, Feyenoord, Huddersfield, and Southampton last month. (9/10)
LEFT WING FORWARD

Anthony Martial:The speed and dribbling ability of the 1995-born striker will be what Mourinho expects from MU's counter-attacks. However, Martial will have to face a very big obstacle in the form of Walker. (8/10)
Leroy Sane:Perhaps there's no need to elaborate too much on Sane's danger. The German star possesses lightning-fast runs and a clinical finishing ability. So far, Sane has scored 6 goals and provided 6 assists in the 2017/18 Premier League. (8/10)
TRUNG PHONG

Romelu Lukaku:The £89 million signing needs to build consistency if he wants to become a great striker in the Premier League. Lukaku's inconsistency is a source of anxiety for Manchester United fans, and hopefully his recent goal against CSKA Moscow will give him the greatest confidence ahead of the Manchester derby. (7/10)
Sergio Aguero:The Argentinian international is a player for big matches, and the Manchester derby certainly wouldn't be complete without Aguero. Gabriel Jesus is excellent, but in terms of class and experience, El Kun is a cut above. Therefore, Aguero is highly likely to be Guardiola's choice to lead Man City's attack. (9/10)
Final score: MU (79/100) vs Man City (87/100)
