More than 1,500 poultry of unknown origin were destroyed.

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of December 11, the Dien Chau District Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Station destroyed 1,520 poultry of unknown origin that were seized while beingtransport from Hanoi to Hue for consumption.

Previously, at 11:00 p.m. on December 7, 2017, the working group of Dien Chau Traffic Police Station (under Nghe An Traffic Police Department) was on patrol duty at km 418 of National Highway 1A in Dien Hong Commune, Dien Chau, when they discovered and inspected a passenger car with license plate 75B-011.00 traveling from North to South. Upon inspection, they discovered that the car was carrying 19 foam boxes containing 1,520 ducks and chicks (1 day old).

Mr. Le Tan (born in 1983), residing in Ward 5, Dong Ha City, Quang Tri, the driver was unable to present documents proving the origin and quarantine of the poultry from the authorities. Tan confessed that he was hired to transport the poultry from Phu Xuyen, Hanoi to Hue for consumption.

The working group has drawn up a record of the seizure and handed it over to Dien Chau Veterinary Station for processing and destruction according to the provisions of law./.
