Regarding the case of a father being beaten by his son, causing broken ribs, chipped kneecaps, broken bones, and bruises all over his body, speaking to the press, Mr. Nguyen Van Huyen - Deputy Chief of Police of Hung Loi Commune, Hung Nguyen, Nghe An said: Currently, the Commune Police Department has sent a petition to the District Police requesting criminal prosecution of Mr. Nguyen Vo Nang (born 1959) for being beaten by his son on November 22.

He is currently living with his younger brother, Nguyen Van Dao.

According to Mr. Huyen, after the incident, local people were also extremely upset. They all expressed their hope that the authorities would seriously consider and handle the matter.

In particular, when seeing Nguyen Van T (born in 1987, the son who brutally beat his father) still going to work every day without being punished by law, people here were very indignant.

It is known that this is not the head of Mr. Nang who was abused by his child, but many years before that he was beaten by his child.

However, the previous beatings did not cause major consequences and everything was covered up.

Mr. Huyen said: About 4 years ago, because his second son passed away, Mr. Nang was extremely sad, so he sometimes drank alcohol. But when he drank, he did not disturb anyone, he was very gentle.

According to Mr. Huyen, around May 2017, the big TV in the house was broken, so T. took it to be repaired, but it was not repaired and replaced with another old TV. When he returned home, T. made trouble and falsely accused his father of selling the TV to drink alcohol, so he beat his father.

No matter how hard or light his son beat him, Mr. Nang never cried out but always gritted his teeth and endured.

Had to sleep in a trailer because of being mistreated by a gambler

At the end of July 2017, this son kicked Mr. Nang out of the 2-story house where he lived.

Mr. Nang had to return to his old abandoned house to live. From then on, Mr. Nang lived alone in the abandoned house and ate whatever people gave him. At night, Mr. Nang also slept on the cart he used to work in the fields.

Most recently, on November 22, Ms. Pham Thi Huong (born 1960; Mr. Nang's wife) lost 5 million VND that her second son sent to raise his grandchild, so she suspected her husband of taking it.

When T came home from work and found out, he beat his father, causing broken ribs, a cracked shinbone, a cracked kneecap, and bruises all over his body.

Accordingly, when T came home from work and saw his mother crying, he immediately asked her, "Did you lose money?" Then T went straight to Mr. Nang's house and beat her.

T. used his hands and feet to beat his father, and used a bed frame to hit him. T. also brought two bottles of gasoline with the intention of burning down his father's old house, but people tried to stop him.

Mr. Nang was then taken to the emergency room with multiple injuries.

After more than half a month in the hospital, Mr. Nang's health is now more stable and his family has brought him to temporarily stay at the house of Mr. Nguyen Tien Dao (Mr. Nang's younger brother).

A neighbor who witnessed the incident was upset: “At around 7pm, I heard a noise and ran out to look at the fence. I saw T attack my father. It wasn’t until 9pm that he stopped beating him and went outside. About 30 minutes later, he brought gasoline back and continued to beat and tried to burn his father. At that time, everyone intervened so he couldn’t burn him.”

Mr. Nguyen Tien Dao (Mr. Nang’s younger brother) was upset: “Everyone is upset, the children beat their father like that. They kicked him out of the house and forced him to live in an old abandoned house, sleeping on a cart at night, without blankets or mats. We tried many times to persuade Mr. Nang to come back to live with us, but he refused. Sometimes people cooked rice and brought it to him to eat.”

Mr. Dao said: “After beating his father, T did not ask any questions, so Mr. Dao himself had to run to take Mr. Nang to the hospital. At the hospital, he came without asking about his father but wrote a form asking not to assess his father's injuries and forced his father to sign it to the police, but luckily we found out and stopped him. We hope the police will get involved to clarify the matter and punish him severely.”

It is known that after receiving information about the incident, Hung Nguyen District Police summoned Nguyen Van T. to investigate and clarify. Initially, T. admitted to beating his father, causing the above consequences.
