Woman kidnaps newborn baby boy in hospital

On December 14, Chau Doc City Police (An Giang) prosecuted and temporarily detained Huynh Thi An (30 years old, in Chau Doc City) to investigate the act of Child Abduction.

According to initial investigation, more than a week ago, while taking care of his nephew at An Giang Provincial General Hospital, An met Mr. Phan Thanh Xuan taking his wife to give birth.

She tried to approach and ask to be a maid for Mr. Xuan's wife after giving birth while she was in the hospital for 150,000 VND a day.

On the afternoon of December 7, while Mr. Xuan was watching his wife in the recovery room, An secretly took the couple's newborn baby boy and escaped from the hospital, then hired a motorbike taxi to take him home to raise.

Upon receiving the news, the police searched for and rescued the baby safely that day. Initially, An confessed that she had kidnapped the baby because she was infertile.
