Invest 4 billion VND to repair suspension bridge in Con Cuong

(Baonghean.vn) - To ensure the safety of people's travel, Con Cuong district has invested more than 4 billion VND to repair Chom Lom suspension bridge and Lam Khe suspension bridge.

Chom Lom suspension bridge in Lang Khe commune and Lam Khe suspension bridge in Chi Khe commune were built in 2006, serving the daily life and production needs of the people in the two communes. Both bridges are designed to be 168m long, 2.2m wide, with wooden planks on the bridge surface and iron railings on both sides.

However, after more than 10 years of use, both bridges have seriously degraded. Many of the bridge deck planks have rotted, some of the iron bars on both sides of the railing have broken, the load-bearing cables and the railing cables have sagged, causing danger to people's travel.

Faced with the above reality, to ensure the safety of people's travel, the People's Committee of Con Cuong district coordinated with relevant levels and sectors to repair and upgrade. Accordingly, along with maintenance, rust removal, and lubrication, the 2 bridges will be replaced with 6mm thick anti-slip steel bridge decks, and additional bridge railings will be added... The total cost to repair the 2 bridges is more than 4 billion VND.

Up to now, Chom Lom suspension bridge is basically completed, Lam Khe suspension bridge is currently being urgently repaired, expected to be completed in December 2017.
