From December 25, 2017 to December 24, 2018, Honda Vietnam Company officially recalled 652 Accord and Odyssey cars to inspect and replace the door mirror control switch error.

Among the recalled vehicles are 320 Honda Accords manufactured from 2012 to 2015, the rest are Honda Odysseys manufactured from 2015 to 2017.

These vehicles are manufactured at Honda Automobile (Thailand) Co., Ltd - Ayutthaya Factory and imported completely by Honda Vietnam Company for distribution.

The reason for recalling the above vehicles is due to improper treatment of the contact surface in the rearview mirror control switch. If used for a long time, it may be oxidized, causing the rearview mirror on the car door to automatically fold in when the car is running, parked or not working when the switch is turned on.

In case of the above phenomenon, the user's vision will be affected, and may even cause unsafety for the user.

Honda Vietnam Company also recommends that for their own benefit and safety, customers should bring their vehicles to authorized Honda distributors to have the rearview mirror control switch replaced.

For vehicles distributed by other companies subject to recall as announced by Honda Japan Company, Honda Vietnam is ready to inspect and repair if customers bring their vehicles to authorized dealers to request handling.

It is expected that affected Honda vehicles will be inspected and repaired free of charge, taking about 12 minutes per vehicle.

In July 2016, the company also carried out a recall campaign for nearly 10,000 Civic, CR-V and Accord vehicles to replace the front passenger airbag inflators as a precautionary measure to ensure customer safety.

In August 2017, Honda Vietnam also carried out a recall campaign for 319 Accord vehicles manufactured from 2013 to 2015 to replace the battery sensor.
