15 year old boy sentenced for jealousy

Out of jealousy after seeing his girlfriend's photo posted on Facebook by a local, a teenager in Kien Giang stabbed his rival to death.

On December 15, the People's Court of Kien Giang province held a first-instance trial and sentenced Chu Quang Dat (15 years old, in Kien Luong district) to 6 years in prison for murder.

According to the indictment, Dat and Nguyen Van Phong (17 years old) from the same locality had no previous conflicts. On July 25, Dat discovered that Phong posted a picture of his girlfriend on his personal Facebook and became jealous.

The young man then went to the amusement park in Cu Xa Moi neighborhood, Kien Luong district to find the other person to "talk" and then a fight broke out. During the struggle, Dat pulled out a knife and stabbed Phong to death on the spot.
