Nguyen Manh Hung was arrested |
At the scene, the authorities found a decomposed male body. Based on the results of the crime scene investigation and the evidence collected, the investigation team determined that this was a murder case and proceeded to isolate the area and identify the perpetrator.
In just a short time, the suspect of the case, Nguyen Manh Hung, was caught. According to his testimony, around the beginning of June 2010, through an acquaintance, Hung went to stay with Mr. Bui Tien Dung (born 1981), from Duc Ninh Dong ward, Dong Hoi city at house number 48 Truong Chinh street to bet on football.
During their time together, Mr. Dung assigned Hung to write a ticket to expose people who came to bet on football and gave Hung 10% of the total amount of money recorded. At the end of the 2010 World Cup season, the amount of money Hung received was 7 million VND but Mr. Dung did not pay Hung, so the two sides had a conflict. Mr. Dung punched Hung in the face, then went into the bathroom to wash his hair.
Angry at being beaten, Hung used a bed ladder to stab Dung in the head from behind, then used his hands to pin Dung to the bathroom floor until he died.
