Strengthening cooperation and protecting the border between Vietnam and Laos
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of December 20, at the Military Command of Que Phong district, a meeting took place between the Military Commands of 3 districts: Que Phong (Vietnam), Sam To and Muong Quan (Lao PDR).
Attending were comrade Le Van Giap - Secretary of District Party Committee, Chairman of Que Phong District People's Committee; Commander and working delegation of Military Command of 3 districts.

At the meeting, the heads of the Military Command delegations of the three districts discussed and informed about the highlights of the fields of socio-economic development, culture - education and especially the political security work, social order and safety of each district.
Along with that, the delegates reviewed the coordination work in border patrol, hunting down illegal violators, smugglers and especially drug traffickers; the effectiveness of information exchange, information gathering and coordination to effectively resolve issues related to socio-economic development, national defense and security tasks between the three districts.
On this occasion, the delegations also discussed, exchanged ideas and drew experiences in leading, directing and implementing the task of protecting national security; and jointly researched and added to the cooperation plan in the coming time to further strengthen long-term cooperation between the three Military Commands.
Speaking at the meeting, comrade Le Van Giap - Deputy Secretary, Chairman of Que Phong District People's Committee highly appreciated the coordination of the 3 districts in maintaining political security, border sovereignty, affirming the close relationship between Vietnam and Laos and the 3 Military Commands. Through the meeting, it is necessary to discuss and propose a cooperation plan in the coming time to further improve the protection of border markers, crime prevention, weapons storage, illegal migration and forest management and protection along the border.
After discussion, the Military Commands of the three districts agreed and signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation between the parties./.
