Quynh Lap (Hoang Mai district) achieves the new rural development goal.
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of December 22nd, the provincial assessment team held a working session with the People's Committee of Quynh Lap commune to verify and propose the recognition of Quynh Lap commune as meeting the standards of a New Rural Area in 2017.
Quynh Lap is a commune located in the coastal area of Hoang Mai town, with over 12 km of coastline. The people mainly live on the exploitation and processing of seafood and related logistics services for the fishing industry.

Implementing the New Rural Development program, the locality has invested in building essential infrastructure systems such as markets, transportation, irrigation, education, health, and cultural facilities, making them increasingly modern and well-equipped, with a total investment of nearly 235 billion VND.
In addition, the commune has concreted and asphalted 6.2 km of main roads, 3.7 km of inter-hamlet roads, and 6.23 km of alleyways, with 70% of alleyways having street lighting.

There are no dilapidated houses in the area, and the criteria for residential housing are met. Environmental sanitation is increasingly emphasized, and people's awareness of maintaining general hygiene has improved; garbage collection is carried out weekly.
The average per capita income in 2017 was estimated at over 42 million VND, and the poverty rate decreased to 3.15%.
After evaluation, the delegation assessed that Quynh Lap commune had basically met the criteria as prescribed. However, the commune also needs to develop its internal resources to complete and improve the criteria for transportation, production methods, and schools; the evaluation delegation agreed to submit the proposal to the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to recognize Quynh Lap commune as meeting the New Rural Area standards in 2017.
