Sneaking into hotel to steal Toyota Fortuner, sentenced to 7 years in prison
(Baonghean.vn) - Le Hoang Duc sneaked into a hotel in Vinh City to steal a 7-seat car and many other properties. Because his house was small, Duc had to leave his car in an apartment building.
On the morning of December 25, Nghe An Provincial People's Court opened a first-instance criminal trial to try the property theft case against Le Hoang Duc (born in 1989, residing in Dong Vinh ward, Vinh city, Nghe An).
According to the indictment of the People's Procuracy of Nghe An province, on the night of April 11, 2017, Duc sneaked into room 203 of Cam Lai hotel (Vinh city) to steal property from Mr. Nguyen Van Ng. (born in 1981, residing in Phu Thanh ward, Tan Phu ward, Ho Chi Minh city) and Ms. Le Thi N. (born in 1980, residing in Quy Hop town, Quy Hop district).

The property of Mr. Ng and Ms. N stolen by Duc included a Toyota Fortuner car with license plate 37A-229.25 and 2 mobile phones, a wristwatch, a leather wallet containing 2,100,000 VND and Mr. Ng's personal documents. The total amount of property stolen by Duc was 867,100,000 VND.
The stolen car is too small to bring in, so Duc is leaving it in the apartment yard in Vinh Tan ward.
The authorities have recovered the above assets and returned them to the victim. At the trial, Duc confessed honestly and asked for a lighter sentence.
At the end of the trial, the panel sentenced Duc to 7 years in prison for theft of property.
