More than a month after releasing the movie Co Ba Sai Gon on social media, a male student in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province was administratively fined.

The police agency of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province determined that the behavior of the 19-year-old youth (in Xuyen Moc district, a college student) violated Article 17 of Decree 131 of 2013 of the Government on copyright and related rights, infringing on the right to communicate works to the public... with an administrative fine of 15-30 million VND.

Previously, at noon on November 13, this young man and his girlfriend bought tickets to see the movie Co Ba Sai Gon at Lotte Cinema in Vung Tau City.Seeing that the theater was empty, the male student used his friend's iPhone 7 to livestream the movie on the movie-related Fanpage that he and his friend managed. The theater staff discovered the video and wrote a report. He then deleted the video and texted the producer an apology.

Believing that this is a copyright violation, causing economic damage and reducing the film's revenue, actress and producer Ngo Thanh Van submitted a petition requesting the police to investigate.

Two days later, the young man went to the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Police and admitted to having posted the film on social media. The male student said he was not aware that posting the film was a violation of the law.
