14 First Prizes at the Science and Technology Innovation Contest for High School Students

(Baonghean.vn) - After 3 days of organization, on the morning of December 29, the Department of Education and Training announced and awarded the Science and Technology Competition for high school students in the 2017-2018 school year.

This year’s competition has 241 projects and is the year with the largest number of entries in the past 5 years. This is also a competition that gathers a large number of students, teachers, scientists from inside and outside the province as well as other organizations and individuals to participate.

According to the Organizing Committee's assessment, most of the projects this year demonstrated many new scientific ideas; had research skills, proposed quite complete solutions; many projects were practical, highly feasible, creating passion in scientific research, applying lessons into practice and creating a useful playground for secondary and high school students in the whole province.

In addition, many scientific topics and presentations of many students focused on applying knowledge learned in class and practical knowledge into scientific research. These are scientific projects that are truly meaningful in real life, researched from concerns and discoveries through folk experiences, and the desire to improve the work, life, and daily study of students.

In particular, the contest has many topics that approach large, general issues or require advanced techniques in laboratories of universities and research institutes... Thereby, helping to train students' scientific research capacity and showing the connection between high schools and universities.

At the end of the competition, the Organizing Committee awarded 7 collective prizes to high schools and the Department of Education and Training. In which, the first prize went to Phan Boi Chau School, the second prize went to Huynh Thuc Khang High School and the third prize went to Le Viet Thuat High School and Phan Dang Luu High School.

Regarding the Department of Education and Training, the first prize belongs to the Department of Education and Training of Vinh City. Followed by the Department of Education and Training of Dien Chau and the Department of Education and Training of Nghia Dan.

In addition, the Organizing Committee also awarded 14 First prizes; 40 Second prizes; 53 Third prizes; 40 Encouragement prizes for outstanding projects.

At the end of the competition, 18 best projects were also selected to participate in the national Science and Technology competition which will be held in mid-March in Vinh City.
