(Baonghean.vn) - That was the directive speech of comrade Nguyen Xuan Son - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council at the Conference to summarize the work of the Youth Union - Association and youth movement in 2017; deploy directions and tasks in 2018.

Praising and acknowledging the achievements of the Youth Union and Youth Movement in 2017, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Xuan Son informed the youth of the province about some economic and social targets of the province in the year, as well as the challenges currently facing all levels, sectors and the youth of the province.

Believing that the youth should not be satisfied with the results they have achieved, comrade Nguyen Xuan Son requested the leaders of the Provincial Youth Union to be more concerned to bring the Youth Union - Association movement in 2018 to achieve higher results, focusing on effectively implementing the resolutions of the Youth Union congresses at all levels.

Thereby, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee emphasized that the Youth Union at all levels needs to continue to improve the quality of activities with the motto of focusing on the grassroots; improve the quality of branch activities and the quality of union members; strengthen education on revolutionary ideals, ethics, and cultural lifestyle for youth and children.

At the same time, Youth Union chapters at all levels need to organize activities to accompany and support union members, youth, and students in implementing start-up and career programs, building youth economic development models, etc.

In 2017, with the theme "Improving the quality of Youth Union organization", the Youth Union work and youth movement of Nghe An province achieved high and outstanding results in all fields, contributing significantly to the development of the province.

Youth Union chapters at all levels in the province have implemented 4 provincial-level youth projects, 110 district-level youth projects, more than 1,859 grassroots-level youth projects... with a total value of over 8.5 billion VND; effectively exploited and used more than 958 billion VND in loans from the Social Policy Bank, contributing to creating conditions for more than 33,000 households to borrow capital for development.

The province has organized 150 youth forums, over 4,000 youth union meetings; introduced 4,050 outstanding members to the Party and admitted 3,235 members to the Party; carried out more than 500 projects, established 46 youth volunteer teams, 3 international youth volunteer teams and organized humanitarian blood donation, free medical examination and treatment in the 2017 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign.

2018 is the first year of implementing the Resolution of the Youth Union Congresses at all levels. The Provincial Youth Union and the Provincial Youth Union focus on implementing 10 key tasks such as: continuing to improve the quality of Youth Union activities; strengthening education on revolutionary ideals, ethics and cultural lifestyle for youth and children; promoting revolutionary emulation movements of young people; effectively organizing youth projects, youth work, youth startups, youth volunteers...

On this occasion, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union awarded Certificates of Merit to 53 groups and 37 individuals; the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union awarded Certificates of Merit to 43 groups and 21 individuals who had outstanding achievements in the work of the Youth Union and the youth movement in 2017.

The Executive Committee of the Provincial Youth Union and the Youth Union of Nghe An province awarded Certificates of Merit and Emulation Flags to individuals and groups that were outstanding in the work of the Youth Union and the youth movement in 2017.
