(Baonghean) -Dien Lam is a mountainous commune of Dien Chau district, with a natural area of ​​over 3,300 hectares and a population of over 15,000 people. In 2017, the total social income of the commune reached over 400 billion VND, an increase of 10.6%, the proportion of agriculture and forestry decreased by 17.4%, the service sector increased by 5%, the average income reached nearly 29 million VND/person/year, an increase of 9.4%. The investment attraction sectors in the commune have many improvements; notably the Muong Thanh Eco-tourism Project diversifying the types of services and high-class resorts; the export industrial garment factory of Phu Linh Trading and Service Co., Ltd. with modern equipment lines brings in revenue of 40 billion VND/year, creating jobs for over 500 local workers. The model of growing sweet potatoes and galangal for export of Minh Duong Company (Hanoi) in hamlet 5 Nam Lam and hamlet 13 Bac Lam is estimated to earn a profit of 4.7 million VND/sao, it is expected that this model will be expanded to cultivate 3 crops/year on the commune's rice fields.

In 2017, the commune continued to exceed many targets in land and site work; coordinated in clearing the land to expand the 68.4/77.2ha cow farm eco-tourism area, confirmed the transfer, inheritance, and donation of land to 87 households. Coordinated with the surveying unit to check and adjust cadastral records to consider the request for granting certificates of land use rights for 3,060/3,220 agricultural land records, 2,880/3,642 residential land records. Developed a land use plan for 2017-2020, submitted for approval the price of land allocated without auction for 28 lots, coordinated in auctioning 49/54 lots of residential land, prepared documents to submit for approval of measurement and clearance of residential land for 38 lots in the area.

The work of clearing traffic safety corridors has been implemented synchronously and drastically. Following the direction of the superiors in clearing traffic safety corridors, the commune has concretized the detailed implementation in 10 hamlets along National Highway 48, with 647 households signing a commitment; 276/276 households violating traffic safety corridors, through timely propaganda and mobilization, have voluntarily dismantled the violating corridors and returned the land to the roads and villages in the area.

In addition to the timely guidance of superiors, the commune has promoted its exemplary and dynamic role, choosing the right strengths to make a breakthrough. Dien Lam was assessed by superiors as an excellent strong collective. Mr. Ta Thanh Hao - Chairman of Dien Lam Commune People's Committee said: The commune's viewpoint is to continue to supplement, complete and improve the quality of the new rural criteria. Build a 30-hectare single-varieties field in Bac Lam area. Supplement the land planning for the construction of an industrial garment factory. The goal for 2018 is that the commune will achieve a production value growth rate of 11.8%/year, total social income of 447.9 billion VND, total rice output of 6,819 tons, land use coefficient of 2.2 crops/year, average income per capita of over 31 million VND/year.
