Need transparency in player transfers in V-League
(Baonghean) - Clubs in V.League need to have a clear plan in selecting, training, using and transferring players, like the PVF training 'furnace' as well as the way it is done in Thai League.
Last week, the player transfer market became active again in V.League.First, some clubs in the Thai League have announced their intention to invite some Vietnamese players to play, such as Cong Phuong, Xuan Truong, Van Quyet... with a surprising transfer fee of 70 billion VND for Cong Phuong if he agrees to join the Thai League.
Next, PVF Youth Football Training Center awarded certificates of completion of the training course to the students of the second course and signed a contract to hand over the players to professional football clubs. Accordingly, 22 young players of PVF, students born in 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, were officially handed over by PVF to 6 clubs in V.League including SHB Da Nang and Saigon FC, XSKT Can Tho, Hanoi FC, B.Binh Duong, Nam Dinh; 3 First Division clubs: Hue, Dong Thap, Binh Phuoc to compete in the 2018 season.

It is not known whether the price of Cong Phuong given by the Thai League club is real or virtual and how much each PVF player is "sold" to the clubs in V.League and First Division, but that shows that the potential of Vietnamese football is very abundant and if done properly, training and transferring players can also be a huge source of income for the clubs.
Actually, this is nothing new, it is just that it is not done in a public and professional manner like the way the PVF training center and the clubs in the Thai League do. Previously, the amount of money that clubs in the V.League signed with foreign players was not disclosed, while domestic players who were still under contract with the club or young players were often "loaned" to other clubs.
Therefore, many famous training centers have many players who are hired out, such as SLNA, DTLA, Nam Dinh... but the clubs hardly earn any income. It also causes suspicion and controversy about the leaders of some football teams "skimming" and "taking percentages" in "loan" and player transfer deals.
Perhaps it is time for clubs in V.League to have a clear plan in selecting, training, using and transferring players, like the PVF training center and the way it is done in Thai League.
Only then can clubs clarify how much money is invested in youth training, how much is earned, how much is transferred to foreign players... so that V.League becomes more transparent. And that is also a way to avoid some clubs in V.League "making quick money" by not opening youth training classes but only borrowing other "stoves" to compete in youth tournaments legally. This will cause consequences such as Quang Nam winning the V.League but not being able to participate in the AFC Champion League because they do not have a youth training system.
