According to USA Today, if your iPhone shows signs of operating much slower than usual, you may want to consider replacing its battery.
According to Apple's announcement, the company will reduce the price of replacement batteries for iPhones from the iPhone 6 line onwards from $79 to $29 from the end of January 2018 until the end of 2018.
How do you know when you need to replace your battery?
Apple announced that from early 2018, the company will release an iPhone software update with new features to help users know how battery quality is affecting the phone's performance.
However, at the moment, you can check it yourself by going to Settings → Battery. There you may see a message saying "Your iPhone battery may need to be serviced".

Options when you want to replace your iPhone battery
According to Apple, if your battery doesn't reach 80% of its original capacity and you're covered under AppleCare+, the company will replace your battery for free.
Check your phone's warranty status here.If it is not covered by the warranty, you will need to buy a new battery to replace it. It will be a few weeks before Apple officially replaces batteries for older iPhones at a reduced price.
